Every licensed real estate salesperson in New York must complete 22.5 hours of continuing education every two years to renew their license. Here is everything Long Island agents need to know to stay compliant and get the most out of the renewal process.
When Is Your License Due?
New York real estate licenses expire every two years on your birthday. You can find your exact expiration date on your eAccessNY account at dos.ny.gov. Start your CE early — do not wait until the last month.
What the 22.5 Hours Must Cover
New York DOS requires specific topics within your 22.5 hours: 3 hours of fair housing and discrimination, 1 hour of agency, and 2.5 hours of ethical business practices. The remaining 16 hours can be elective topics of your choosing from approved providers.
Online vs. Classroom
Main St Success offers both formats. The online self-paced course lets you complete all 22.5 hours at your own pace — log in from any device, any time. Live classroom sessions run at our Smithtown location with an instructor and run on a fixed schedule. Both formats are New York DOS approved.
