Massachusetts State Requirements
Hours Required by the State: 40 hours
Seat Time: The Massachusetts Department of Real Estate requires that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.
Pre-Licensing Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary.
Licensing Exam: Starting June 16, 2025, the Division of Occupational Licensure (DOL) will process Real Estate Broker and Salesperson applications through the new eLIPSE platform. PSI will no longer handle these applications. The last day to submit applications through PSI is June 13, 2025. All applications received after that deadline will be returned to the applicant. No applications will be accepted the weekend of June 14th and 15th*. Starting June 16th all applications must be submitted via eLIPSE.* PSI will continue to offer the licensing exams. After passing, digital licenses will be issued via eLIPSE. For application instructions and updates, visit the Board’s website.
Instructor Interaction: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires salesperson license applicants to successfully complete 40 hours of pre-licensing education. Live interaction between an instructor and students is required, and this course will provide that online. While all 40-hours of the course content are delivered online, designated portions (approximately 21 of the 40 required hours) are only accessible when an instructor will be available for live interaction.
