Stop Trading Hours for Someone Else's Paycheck

You set the schedule

Work the days and hours that fit your life. Be at the game, the recital, the school pickup.

You pick your clients

Build a reputation with agents and buyers who call you first, again and again.

You control your income

More inspections, add-on services, higher fees. Your effort is the ceiling, not a boss.

You build something of your own

A real business with your name on it. No degree needed to start.

Is the program approved by New York State?

Yes. This is a 140-hour program approved by the NY Department of State (DOS), which is the education New York requires before you can sit for the state licensing exam.

How long does it take?

The program is 140 hours of instruction. Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6 to 10 PM. Your exact start and finish dates depend on the class you join, and our team will confirm them with you after you complete the form.

Can I keep my job while I train?

Yes. Classes are in the evening, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 10 PM, so you can keep working while you train.

What happens after I pass the exam?

Once you pass the state exam, you submit your license application to the NY Department of State. After the state issues your license, you can perform home inspections for pay in New York. We cover the education and exam prep. The exam, application and licensing decisions are the state's, so check current requirements with the Department of State.

Can I take the program remotely?

Yes. You can join the live class on Zoom instead of coming to Smithtown, NY. It is a live class on a set schedule, not self-paced. If you would rather be in the room, in-person is available too. Ask our team how the hands-on mock inspections work for Zoom students.

What does NY require to become a licensed home inspector?

New York requires 140 hours of approved education, passing the state licensing exam, and submitting a license application to the NY Department of State. Our program covers the education and exam prep.
